A Conference for 4th through 6th Grade Girls

Watch for details coming soon on our conference in 2011. Simply Stunning is a two-day conference for girls in the 4th to 6th grade. (Some churches brought 3rd and 7th grade girls last year. That is okay with us.) It is a weekend designed to help girls deal with issues including self-image (seeing you the way God sees you), friends (how to pick good friends and be a good friend), relationships (tips and thoughts before you even start dating), and love (understanding the depth of God’s love for you). Included in the weekend will be dynamic worship, powerful drama, make-up tips, a fashion show and a lot of fun.

George Barna has determined that the spiritual condition of a 13-year-old girl is likely to be indicative of their spiritual condition as an adult. We cannot wait until our girls are in the middle of these issues to address them. We need to lay a solid, biblical foundation in their lives now, before they face these situations.

Conference leaders last year were Allison Martin and Kendra Lakey. Allison is the children’s minister at Fairway Baptist Church in Wichita Falls. She also directed the preteen camp and led worship at the children’s camp at Camp Chaparral last year and works with Uncle Charlie. Kendra Lakey is a children’s pastor at The Well from Tulsa Oklahoma. She loves children and has many years of experience working with them.

This conference is open to churches bringing girls, moms and sponsors. We ask churches to bring a responsible number of adults (at least 1 per 7 girls) to watch over, transport and care for the girls they bring.

Cost for the event is only $25 per girl. You will be responsible for all meals and any transportation or lodging you will need. We encourage moms to attend with their daughters to share this experience and open channels of communication on these important issues. In order to encourage more moms to attend, there is no cost for moms or sponsors.

Our doors will open at 6:30 pm on Friday night with the conference starting at 7:00. We will have session one and a fashion show and be done by 9:00 pm. Saturday morning our doors will open at 8:30 am and start at 9:00. We will have a break for lunch (on your own) and be finished by 4:00 pm. We will have t-shirts and CD's, devotional books and other book for the girls and for the moms.
